Future Materials Awards 2006
Welcome to the Future Materials Awards 2006

Congratulations to all of our nominees, finalists and winners and thank you for your support. Our thanks go to our wonderful MC, Samantha Kume, our after-dinner speaker, Clint Ramsay, the judges, our board, sponsors, state managers and of course all those who participated in the event. It was a fantastic night and we really appreciated being able to highlight some of the great work being done in Australia.

If you would like a copy of our Commemorative Programme please contact Future Materials.

After all, Materials Science is one of the most pervasive and multi-faceted disciplines covering physics, chemistry, biology and most forms of engineering.

Innovations in materials science and engineering lie behind many of the latest products, devices and techniques. From super water-repellant coatings that are self cleaning to plastic packaging that dissolves in water, from materials that expand when cooled and shrink when heated to improved bonding technology for artificial limbs, from lighter and stronger composite air intake manifolds to high performance light alloys for the transportation industry, these and many more developments are due to breakthroughs in how materials are made and processed.
